FAQs for the Energy Risk Awards

Is there any cost to enter?

No – its completely free to enter all Risk.net awards.

How do I enter and what will the entry form look like?

To enter, firms need to fill in the entry form on this site and submit it via the website portal.
The entry form requires firms to discuss specific challenges they have overcome and detail the progress they have made over the past 12 months.

The details below of what to include in entries can also be found on the entry forms:
a) Details of major achievements in the past 12 months and explanation of why these achievements matter. For example, how did this work help a client/solve an internal problem/address a wider market issue/improve best practice in risk management and trading? If relevant, how do these successes build on previous work to show progress? 
b) Details of challenges that had to be overcome and talk about how this was done.
c) In what ways did this company, team or deal stand out against the competition during the last year? What is the USP? 
d) How has this company, team or deal contributed to the development of best practice in risk management and/or trading in the past 12 months? 
e) It is always useful to provide figures where possible that show growth and improvement – eg customer or revenue growth, or scale and size of deals etc. 
f) Please include some references – people outside your organisation who would be willing to talk to Energy Risk judges about their experience of working with you/your product if you were to reach shortlist stage.
 

Who will judge the awards?

Judging is done by our esteemed Risk.net editorial team. All judging decisions are explained in a detailed series of articles on Risk.net.


The judging process takes up to 12 weeks from the submission of entries and involves detailed off-the-record meetings with short-listed firms followed by a due diligence phase in which clients are canvassed (also off the record) for their views on the awards entrants.

Can I enter more than one category?

Yes, you can enter as many categories as you want. Just make sure that you meet the eligibility criteria for each category before submitting.

How and when will the winners be announced?

The winners will be announced alongside our annual conference Energy Risk Global in July. For more information please contact a member of our team.

To stay as impartial as possible we don’t give out individual advice on entries however we have put together our judge’s tips and entry criteria here.

When do entries open and close?

Entries open on February 25, 2021 and will close on March 26, 2021.

Is my submission confidential?

Yes – all awards submissions are treated as highly confidential.
