How to enter

There is no charge to enter the Energy Risk awards and you may enter as many categories as are relevant to you.

To enter the Energy Risk awards, firstly decide on the category or categories you wish to enter. These are listed under the ‘Categories’ tab.

Then click on each category you wish to enter. There you will find the entry form and a list of criteria specific to that category.

Fill out the entry form and submit it through the website portal. The entry form requires firms to discuss specific challenges they have overcome and detail the progress they have made over the past 12-18 months in the area of commodities trading and risk management.

Please note, there are some changes to the entry procedure this year. Entries must be a MAXIMUM of 800 words. There will not necessarily be follow-up interviews for short-listed firms, so it’s important to convey your message within the entry form itself and not reply on a follow-up phone call, or, for example, linking to websites or other generic material to support your case.

The entry form provides further guidance on what to include in your entry. Please try to address as many of the points in the guidance as possible.

Overall, the awards focus on the past 12-18 months and entries should contain specific examples of progress and innovation in your field. We are looking for stories of growth and improvement over the year, even from the largest of players. We consider not only the performance of the company but its contribution to best practice in risk management and market development. Of particular interest are pitches that demonstrate a firm is doing something new or has made a breakthrough in some way.
